Canfield’s VECTRA® WB360 recently installed at Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute

Canfield’s VECTRA WB360 was recently installed at Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute at West Penn Hospital. As the first of its kind available in western Pennsylvania, the whole-body imaging system will be the centerpiece of the hospital’s newest facility. Their patients will be provided with one-stop access to the technology, therapies, and expertise they would need on their journey to health. The VECTRA WB360 captures patient images using 46 stereo vision pods with cross-polarized and non-polarized lighting, generating a single 3D image of the entire body. Incorporating Canfield’s DermaGraphix® software, the 3D images are used for pigmented lesion and rash surveillance. The surgical oncologist and director at AHN Skin Cancer commented on the importance of high-quality imaging: “Having better images means better care for our patients, and more timely detection of suspicious abnormalities”. This system and software will allow him and his staff to offer better care aimed at prevention as well as conduct clinical and translational research that will focus on early detection.
